About Us
About Inglewood 2nd Call
With his no-nonsense program and a determination to see individuals succeed, Jason developed Inglewood 2nd Call as an option for people serious about bettering their lives. He’s been through the system, just like many of the people we help. He also served in the military once and then again through second call. Jason understands what it takes to overcome your past.
From & For The Community
Our objective is to assist veterans, former felons, and former gang members who want to better themselves and our community. Our primary goal is to stop the cycle of violence through career development, workshops, and enhancing life skills for people in need. We are here to offer alternatives to violence and abuse through intervention, counseling, and support.
About Jason Rugley
Throughout his career, Jason has found himself working as the "lead man in charge." He attributes his "army spirit" to seven years as a U.S. Army infantryman. After completing service in 2003, Jason initially struggled to find work after discovering the skills and credentials he acquired in the military did not transfer well into the civilian workforce. He eventually found a job doing remodeling work, which served as his entry into the maintenance and construction field. Realizing he had a knack for building and leading projects, Jason decided to pursue a more permanent career in construction.
Through the Construction and Utilities Pathways Program (CUPP), Jason was hired by TEC Constructors and Engineers for the LA Stadium project. Now a qualified journeyman, he has valuable advice about working in construction, believing the most important aspects of his job are promoting a culture of safety, maintaining camaraderie with co-workers, and keeping up morale with a "can do" attitude. He doesn't mind working long hours or staying late to finish a job, as the pride he feels when he is able to point to something and say, "I built that," makes it all worth it.
"Being able to tell my children, “I did that,” gives me unbelievable joy."Jason Rugley
